Being Sick Sucks

Sorry I haven't been around lately.  Unfortunately I've had a really horrible stomach bug, which has taken away my will to move or do anything really.  But I'm finally starting to feel much better, and hopefully tomorrow I'll be back on my feet completely, because if I am I'm going to see X-Men First Class.  Yay!  I can't wait.  I love comic books and I love comic book movies.  Even when they're terrible.  I've been told it's amazing though by some of my fellow comic geeks, so I'm really excited.

Afterwards I'm going to go and get my tattoo coloured in again.  I got my third tattoo on my birthday, I'd been saving up for it.  I had it placed in my elbow crease and it wouldn't heal right so the colours haven't settled properly.  So the guys at Design 4 Life (my favourite place to get tattooed and pierced) told me to pop back in and they'd fill it in again.  For free.  So I'm really looking forward to that too.

This is a picture from the first day, the little red heart needs refilling now sadly.  I got the lily for my mum, and the pink hearts for my sister and the red heart for my dad.  They've all helped me through a rough time the past couple of years and it's my way to remember all they've done for me.

So while I've been stuck in, Danny has been trying his hardest to keep my spirits up.  I'm really lucky to have such a caring boyfriend.  So that meant a lot of film watching, quite a few good films and unfortunately some bad films.  My favourite of the week has been a Korean fantasy film called Woochi, it was amazing.  I recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy films, it felt like what Sorcerer's Apprentice should have been.  Just an amazing piece of cinema and some brilliant comedy performances.  I can't wait to watch it again.

I can't say the same for Suckerpunch.  This was the film I was really looking forward too the most as well.  I just didn't like it.  I haven't read the graphic novel, I still intend to though, maybe the film just didn't do it justice.  The film had so much potential, unfortunately some of the actors just didn't sit right with me and I found it just to damn predictable for a film that was obviously trying so hard to have a twist.  I loved the fantasy fight sequences though.  The fighting was beautifully executed and reminded me of the fight sequences often found in animes.  In fact I think the film might have been better as an anime.

In between the endless hours of film watching I decided to dye my wonderful green hair blue.  I don't like it as much as my green and it was rushed so it's not as blue as I would have liked it to turn out, but I spent a while pretending I was Nightcrawler and bamfed around the room till I could bamf no more.

What do you think is better?  Tongue pulling blue or fringe attacking green?

Then I took a bath with my awesome new floaty duck, Syd.  He's yellow, he's cool and he loves to bop around in the water while listening to music.  He seems to really like Halestorm.  I keep thinking I should make a playlist for when I get a bath.  Has anyone else actually got one for their bath time?  What do you like to listen to?

Well I'm off to paint my nails, neon green and midnight blue.  Speak to you all soon.

Cherry Neko and the Case of the Dead Batteries

How much fun is it to have the house to yourself and blast out your favourite music?  Of course there's the obligatory sing as loud and terrible as you can to the music, and in my case the odd jump and the important moshing.  I've discovered the best way to dry hair is by waving your head around like a lunatic, but I like my hair to look messy.  Currently I've got the latest Foo Fighter album on, so I'm a very happy bunny indeed.  They're my favourite band of all time and have been for over a decade now, sure they've done some crappy songs but then there's the epic songs that cancel the bad songs.  So I've spent most of my morning moshing around the room and trying my hardest to fight the urge to jump on the bed like a big kid.

I also done something productive, a new choker.  It's a piece of light green ribbon with a small Hello Kitty! charm on.  I love it and the whole point of me turning on the laptop was to put up a photo, so I turned on my laptop, sat down, put my necklace down on a backing, to make it look a little more professional because that's what they do...I think?  Any way, I got it all ready and turned my camera on...and then it turned itself off.  So I turned it back on, then it turned itself off again.  Yep, I knew it.  The batteries have died, and me being the silly girl I am, has forgotten to by more.  Even been on a list for months now.  I should really start picking up my shopping lists with me.  So that being said, my necklace is cute, use your imagination for now.  Please don't try and imagine this magnificent and wonderful piece that could never be duplicated though, because then you'll feel let down, and then I'd feel bad for letting you down and have to go out and buy you some chocolate.  And don't tell me your disappointed just so you can get a free chocolate bar, that won't work.  Though now I feel guilty for not giving you any chocolate, hmmmm, I'll let you share some of mine instead.

See, I'm not all bad.  ~fixes my crooked halo~, damn thing keeps slipping.

I've got to go in a minute, I'm off to the boyfriends for a few days.  He's promised to take me to see the Hang Over part 2 tomorrow so I'm very excited, then hopefully we're going to pick up a zombie film for the night time.

Bye

Necklaces, Earrings and Danny oh my

Danny's better, hurrah! He's returned and he's no longer sick.  So I'm a happy and worry free Cherry Neko once more.

Any way, hello blogging world.  How are you all today?  Here in England its been raining pretty heavy, which has added to my happy happy mood today.  I love the rain, I love the smell of it, I love standing outside in it (especially with my uber cute umbrella, which I'll have to get a photo of) and I really love the sound of it.  So what if it gives you a cold every now and then, at least it doesn't make you skin fry.  Although sunny rain  makes me smile too, so I guess I won't hate the sun that much.

This morning I sat down and I made my first pair of earrings ever, and my second attempt at a necklace.  It's a bit better than my first attempt, it just proves that practice definitely helps.

My little lock and key love earrings <3

A lovely blurry picture of my skull and dice necklace
Me and Danny, funny face ftw!

Sorry about the quality on the photo's my boyfriends the photoshop wiz not me.

I'm really enjoying making jewellery, it's lots of fun.  Plus I have these really cute small pliers which help me a lot because I have freakishly small sized hands (my friends words not mine).  My hands are so small that I can't wear bangles because they just fall off, I have to buy tiny rings too. So having some small pliers that don't feel like they're going to fall out of my hands every time I try and squeeze them together is nice.  Even though my hands are freakishly small they're one of my favourite parts of my body.  Odd I know, but it's always nice to like something about yourself, even if its just the little things.

I'm off now to venture into the rain and have some more adventures, who knows what I'll do today but I'm hoping it's going to be fun.

Have a nice day!

Tuesday 7 June 2011

Yes, he's a skeleton AND a detective. Problem?

Phew!  What a week I've had.  It seems I've been rushing around non-stop, I've barely had time to blog and when I have sat down at Ema (the name of the laptop) my brains just been frazzled and putting word to screen became an impossible task.  Pfft, stupid brain.  I don't know what I pay her for, all she does is sit around all day and daydream.  I'll let her off though, it seems that she's returned back to her old self today, being all thinky and stuff.  It couldn't come at a better time either, for my wonderful boyfriend has got a poor tummy, so he's in bed at his mum's house while I have to sit here and entertain myself.  I miss him a lot, it just seems too damn quiet.  Maybe some cyber-get-well-wishes are what he needs, in that case, GET WELL SOON DANNY!!! ... or else ~shakes fist menacingly~.

So without my boyfriend to keep me occupied, it's been up to me to find fun ways to pass the time.  And that's why I'd like to thank the magnificent Derek Landy for the creation of Skulduggery Pleasant.  I love those books!!!  I have a mini-obsession with Skulduggery, it's my favourite book series.  It knocked The Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice from being my number one book series, a place it held since I was very, very young.  I may be older now, but something about this character just makes me feel like I should be sneaking up late at night with a torch under the bed covers to read it.  It provides a warm ooey and gooey feeling inside.

So I've been happily re-reading the first book today curled up in a blanket, listening to the rain, eating cakes and drinking tea.  What a perfect way to spend some "me" time.  Is there any books you love to read when you're having your "me-time" and do you drink tea or coffee?

Though I have to say I don't like this whole Danny being sick thing.  It unnerves me.  I'm not used to it and all I keep thinking about is what things I love when I'm having a sick day and how he hasn't got them with him.  Not that they'd probably make him feel any better but it's just one of those things.  I get sick quite a bit thanks to my wonderful immune system and a bad case of ulcerative colitus.  So when I'm sick I love to hug Flufflez the penguin and have my Oogie cushion nearby while I watch a load of  Studio Ghibli films, then as I'm going to sleep I put my Nintendo Star night-light on.

I know it's a bit childish to have a night-light but I only use it when I'm sick, and it really cheers me up. It's not the fact that it's a light, it's the fact that it's a Nintendo Star.  I have collected them for a few years now, not sure when my little collection started but I have a few Stars now and I loved them all.  Then I met Danny and one of the first things I noticed about him what that he has a Nintendo Star tattoo!!!  I couldn't believe my luck, and so now I have another star for my collection, that's the reason I'm with him, promise.  It just seems like another one of those things that convinces me that he was definitely made for me.

I've got to go now, my belly's begging for food (I hope it likes pizza).

Have a good Tuesday folks.
