Little Gothic Horror love

I'm in love.  With a blog, (but don't tell Danny that).  Or more so the owner of the blog, Emma.  She's a wonderful person and has helped me in my crusade of uniting blogs together all under one little blog.  My little project, The Little Blog of Blogs.  It finally has its first resident, residing in the newly built Horror section.

After all the support she's giving me, here, I felt it was only fair that I give her blog some love and support HERE. So ladies, gentlemen and all the other wonderful creatures in the world, I bring you, Little Gothic Horrors.

About Me: Hi, my name is Emma and I've always been smitten with the supernatural and the spooky. I have created this blog to be a dwelling place for all things delightfully dark. My family, my cat and my friends are the centre of my universe, and a night spent at home with a DVD and a Chinese take-away is my idea of a party. An actual party, oddly enough, is not my idea of a party.

It's an amazing blog, and she talks about some really fascinating things.  Including Buffy (so you can see why I already give her the thumbs up).  She has a penchant for horror, but it swings to the more Gothic side (like her title states) rather than the gore.  The more classy in time in horror.  Her musings are wonderful and I really could not say anything about Little Gothic Horrors that would make it sound any where near as good as it is.  So I suggest you take your peepers away from the bright world of Cherry Neko and delve into the dark, wonderful world of Little Gothic Horrors, just this once.

Walking Like A Zombie

Have you guys heard about the Blogger Zombie Walk?

If not, check it out right now.  It sounds amazing.  Everyone involved has to do something related to zombies on their blog on the 30th September.  I've already got quite a few ideas, and I'm sure everyone else who's taking part is going to have such good Zombie day.  So please, for the sake of all the little zombies in the world, look into your heart and please join the blogger zombie walk cause.  It's simple, just email ghosthuntingtheories@gmail.com and say you want in.  Thank you and just remember...they only want to eat your brains.

My Little Project

I don't know if any of you remember but a few weeks ago I mentioned a mini project I was working on here.

Well I'm ready to start showing you.  It's actually a new blog.  Don't worry I'm not abandoning this one.  I'm just starting a new blog that serves a purpose.  It's purpose, to show everyone your blogs.  I don't know if it's just me but when you try and search for certain types of blog on Google it often proves fruitless.  I often get results that just didn't match what I wanted or sites that nobodies used for years.  So I thought it might be good to have someone for people to go and let you know what their blog is about.  What YOUR blog is about, if its crating, the horror genre or just random day to day posts and ramblings.  So I started my new blog...

I haven't actually finished making the blog, but I feel it's ready enough to get the ball rolling.  So I was wondering instead of forcing you all to put your blog down and surrender to the power of awesomeness, I'd tell you how pretty your are and how much I'd love you if you'd join in with my little project.  If you do want to help me out and be the most amazing person ever it's simple.  All I need you to do is contact me, and you can do that by emailing me at cherryneko@hotmail.co.uk or just add it to the comment below.  Just let me your blog title and address, add a mini paragraph just so other readers know what you're all about, and if you could tell me what category you think your blog would fit into.  I'm always open to adding new tabs or extending other ones, because I want everyone to feel included.  Even add a photo or picture if you really want too.

e.g.  Cherry Neko Saves the World, http://cherrynekostw.blogspot.com/
Just a blog that follows my day to day life, as I dabble in crafting, sewing and just being me.
Day to day life, crafting, sewing.

I know it's not going to be an instant success and I certainly wouldn't force it upon anyone who doesn't want to take part, I just thought it would be a good way to spread the blog love.  So please feel free to join if you want, or once I've got some other people other than my self (lol) added feel free to nose and read someone else's blog.

I've even got an idea of having a blog-of-the-week section.  Have you got any ideas?  Do you think this is a good idea? And my main question do you want to join?

Hope your all having a good day =)

Followers! with a side of Kanzashi flowers

Wow.  I got 10 followers.  I never thought I'd get 10.  Thank you everyone!!!  This really has made my day.  I've been feeling rather poorly today after the doctors made some big mistakes on my medicine and then put me through a nasty procedure yesterday.  So this has really cheered me up.  Thanks for following =).

I'm thinking if I get to 25 I should maybe try and string together some sort of give away.  That's if I ever get there though, I'm an optimist though so maybe I'll get to 25.

Like I said, I've been sick in bed today so to amuse myself I've read my tattoo mags, watched some Buffy on VHS and I've tried my hand at making Kanzashi flowers.  I've had real fun, and my first two attempts aren't that great but hey, I just got to practice.  Plus I have nothing to put in the middle if them so they look a little messy but I'm so proud.

Once again photo quality ain't so great, it's not the end of the world though.

Right I got some Buffy Season 3 to catch up on.  Buffy makes everyone happy!  Right? =)

A Random Day (photo heavy)

Boo!  I scared you didn't I?  Haha.

Today's post is inspired by a post I read on the wonderful Miss Lou's blog.  You can find Miss Lou here --> http://elousions.blogspot.com/ and the post I'm "robbing" ideas from is here --> http://elousions.blogspot.com/2011/08/my-day-in-photos.html.

It was World Photography Day and she had an amazing idea of taking a photo of what she was doing every hour.  I loved the post and the idea itself.  So on Tuesday I decided to take a photo every hour.  I was going to my boyfriends that day so I set the alarm on my phone to go off every hour and snapped away.  The rule I made for myself was whatever I was doing every hour I stopped what I was doing and took a photo. I should warn you though, the picture quality isn't that great and my Photoshop skills are non existent. My camera is playing dead and I'm hoping for a new one for Christmas so until then you'll have to make do with looking at my phone photos.  Hope you enjoy!

10:30 I actually woke up much earlier but had sat in bed drinking my tea and reading blogs.  so this is me in all my sleepy glory.
11:30 In the middle of putting my make up on and doing my hair.
12:30 I was just walking to the bus stop after I had got my shopping.
1:30 walking from the bus stop to Danny's and my buckle came undone on my awesome Converse.
2:30 Sat in Danny's watching Metal Gear Solid being played by the boy.
3:30 Just about to peel and eat my apple yum!!!
4:30 After being silly and forgetting my medicines me and Danny had to get a taxi all the way back home to pick them up.  I thought I'd take a picture of the clouds because they looked pretty, then noticed the huge "soil" label blocking them haha.
5:30 Getting back to Danny's.  He looks terrified.
6:30 Making pasta for tea time nom nom nom

7:30 It's time for a mini nap on awesome Space Invader pillows.
8:30 Just waking up and about to sit down and watch some films for the rest of the night.  (We watched Your Highness and the WWE Monday Night Raw).  Danny politely asked if we could watch them without taking photos, he'd put up with it happily all day, so it was only fair.

So that was my day.  Not that interesting but I had a lot fun doing it.  Have you done anything like this?  Or are you going too?  I'd really like to see.

Enchilada's, Milkshakes and Zombies oh my!

Hello there,

Well its been an interesting few days.  Nothing happened in particular, but it was interesting non-the-less.

I have decided to join the wonderful world of contact wearing.  My day-to-day glasses have been swapped over for some contacts.  I'm still really weary of them.  I've been wearing glasses since I can remember, I even remember my hideous pair from when I was about 5.  They were round like Harry Potters and the top half was yellow and the bottom half was lilac.  A ginger, freckly kid who was obviously already a geek and a little odd wearing those glasses.  No wonder people tried to bully me.  Tried.  Mwahahaha.

It's not the touching my eye thing that bothers me with contacts, but the lack of glasses.  I just think I look really odd, my eyes seem so small, and my face looks naked.  For the love of Yoda, I went outside with a naked face.  No wonder people stared.  It had nothing to do with the ripped fishnets or the neon pink and green hair.  It was the naked face thing obviously.

Does anyone else wear contacts and have the same naked problem?  Are you naked right now?  Your face I mean haha.

Then tonight I had a date night with Danny.  Due to the lack of pennies, we decided to have one at home tonight.  So we chilled in my room and I made us enchiladas for tea time.  Non-spicy ones ofcourse...but they still seemed to be too spicy =/, they were still tasty though.  Danny ate them so fast he felt sick, but I'll take it as a compliment.  Me enchilada's taste so nice that they must be eaten quickly so no enchilada fairies can try and steal them!!!  I drank some strawberry Angel Delight milkshake to take the edge off the spicyness.  Strawberry milkshake always gets a huge thumbs up from me.  Then we sat back and watched a film.  I'm a huge horror fan so we watched a Spanish film called [Rec].

There's a story behind why we had a date night in and watched the film.  When we first got together a year and half ago we couldn't afford to go out properly so we had a date night in.  We ate a huge pizza, I drank strawberry milkshake and we watched Quarantine.  It turned out Quarantine was an American re-make of [Rec], and we had such a good night that we vowed to watch [Rec] too.  He even ate the pizza too fast that night too.  So it seemed fitting that we did the same thing again, except with Enchilada's.  I was really feeling the need for Enchilada's.

Anyway [Rec] was amazing.

Scary and brilliantly made.  There's just something about foreign horror movie's that are much more, well scary.  Don't get me wrong, I love American horror films too, but the reason I love them is because most of the time there camp and gory.  It's really hard to find horror with atmosphere and just the right amount of gore to make it genuinely scary though.  [Rec] was really terrifying.  The effects weren't over the top and they just let the story really sell itself.  I would definitely watch it again, I even have to sequel [Rec]2 to watch.  I can't wait to watch it.  Zombie films for the win!

I'm a huge zombie film fan, but the last few years its become a chore watching some of the zombie films they hash out these days.  I used to be such a zombie purist.  My friends would laugh at my outrage that zombies could run, so much so that I boycotted zombie films for quite a while.  Now I just watch them grimbling and grombling at the inappropriate zombies who run, and I growl at those who can think for themselves.  Saying that, I still love them.  I learned to accept it, I'm still a grump about it sometimes, but I've learned to just relax and enjoy the cheesiness.

I've even got my outfit planned for when I have to take on the zombie hordes, my boots that I like to call my "Zombie-apocalypse boots", and my Zombie killing hoody.  I just need to find the perfect dress, I want Mila Jovovich's red one from Resident Evil.  I think then I will be unstoppable.

I can't find my boots, so I'll find them a take a picture of them for you.

Do you have the perfect zombie horde killing outfit?

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Finally...

...I got to see Harry Potter!

Deathly Hallows Part 2 that is.  I'm going to happily admit that I absolutely loved it, yes it was flawed, but I just didn't care.  My mum loved it too, she's never read the books but she absolutely loves the films.  Every Boxing Day since Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (that's Sorcerer's Stone to all my American friends) came out on DVD me, mum and my sister Vix sit in our pj's, eat tons of food that's terrible for us and watch the latest Harry Potter film.  A bit of a tradition, and one I love.  Although I guess after this year we'll either a)have to find a new film or b) start from the beginning again.  I'm opting for B.  I have to say though, I was disappointed with the last film, it was dreadful.  My mum can't stand it, and I guess for people who haven't read the books they would feel a little lost, but I'm happy to say this movie made up for it.  Ron was epic, Neville was epic, and the Snape scene was just so heartfelt.  So...YAY!

Have you been to see it yet?

I get older...so does my sister apparently

I'm all excited and jittery today!!!  It's my little sisters 21st birthday tomorrow!!!  Which makes me feel a little older than I actually am, haha.  I want a rocking chair and a porch to put it on.  I can't wait to give her all of her presents though.  I spent so long trying to decide what to buy her.  She is ridiculously hard to buy for.  So I'm hoping she'll love what I got her.

Vicky doesn't drink or go out to town, and with me not allowed to be out in crowded places or able to enjoy the tastiness of alcohol I came to the conclusion that a trip to the Zoo was called for.  So me and Danny took her to Chester Zoo a few weeks ago and we had such a good time.  Mostly laughing at Danny.  He's never been to a zoo or anything like that so spent the day hyperactive, jumping from animal to animal.  He loved the monkeys so in honour of his pure giddyness vicky got a monkey teddy and named it after him so we'd all remember the day.  And I got a teddy penguin, I named her Zooey.  We had so much fun.

I've just wrapped her prestents, and I've blown up some balloons, all I have to do now is wait to be able to run into her room, jump on her bed and sing "Hippo birdy" at the top of my lungs ~waits to pounce~.

So I've been trying to busy myself, which has been extra hard today.  I'm trying to loose a bit of weight, my Dr told me last week that if I do get the go ahead for more surgery it might be better to loose a bit of weight.  Which I've been wanting to do for a while now, not too much though.  I'm a fan of the curvy look, I used to be skinny and I wasn't really comfortable with who I was.  When I started to put the weight on, I felt better, but then I put a little too much on.  Only problem is I can't diet.  It's not a mind thing, it's been a week and I've stuck to it.  Not one sweet, or cookies.  Only good foods.  The trouble is I can't eat many of the "good" foods.  Due to my colostomy and ulcerative colitis a lot of food is off the menu.  Eating most fruit and veg is no-no for me, I can't really eat wholegrain or anything with too much fibre in and nuts are what I like to call "suicide", they won't kill me but they hurt like a bitch.  So, you see my problem.  Plus exercising can't really happen either unless I want to land myself back in hospital.  I got a meeting with a dietitian once my letter comes through, and hopefully they can help.  That's when I get my letter in.

So I've been running on full distraction steam today.  I read my tattoo mag, I read some blogs, read some tutorials and have started to make a bustle apron for myself.  But now it's late and I don't feel much like doing anything except maybe watching a film.  Shaun of the Dead methinks.  Yay!

Hope you all have a fabulous night,

Took on the riots and returned triumphant, with rice.

Triumph.  I have returned to my little home, with a celebratory muffin and a cup of peppermint tea.  Smiles all around, as it seems the dreadful rioting that has taken over England has finally died down.  Those people should be ashamed of themselves!  On the other hand, just look how gangsta this guy is.

This picture makes me laugh so much.  They couldn't even get the good stuff, supermarkets own brand.  If you're going to rob something at least rob something worth robbing, like a brand name.  Me and Danny walked past the world food isle in the supermarket the other day, when I got to the basmati rice I burst out laughing.  So I decided I had to do one better than this guy...

...oh yeah, mine was a brand and boxed for my convenience.  Not sure what's happening with my face or eye though.  And my hair seems to have taken a life of its own.  Oh well, still worth a giggle.

Hope you've all had a good and safe week?  And weekend of course.

I know I've been quite a busy bod, the last few weeks and have ignored the world of blogging somewhat.  Shame on me, shame on me in deed.  I'm here now though, and I've been mulling over ideas of things I would love to blog about this upcoming week.  So keep posted.

Also I'm working on a mini project, that I hope you'll all be apart of.  Nothing too exciting, but still it might interest you.

So I've been a very good little neko and have some blogs planned, and some blogs all written up and ready to place upon your little screens, so your pretty eyes can gaze at.  In fact I might write a blog, telling you all what I'm going to write about.  Then I have to stick to it!

Love you all, and missed reading through all your blogs.

Has to disappear ~sad face~

...but worry not, its not forever.

It's only for a little while.  Once again I have things to blog but I can't get them up because they're on my laptop at home, and I am currently at my friends, and then off to live at my internetless boyfriends for a little while.  I don't know if you pretty readers have heard but I live in Liverpool, England.  And this means riots at the moment unfortunately.  Horrible, horrible riots have taken over England at the minute.  So I'm going to have to move to a safer area until everything has calmed down.

I still love you guys, but I gotta leave y'all till things are back to normal.  Hopefully I'll be back soon, I have lots to tell you.

Hope anyone else who's living in England is safe, and I'm sending you all huggles.

Bye bye,

It's all right because I'm saved by the...Zack?

Today's been hard.

Vary hard.

I mean after all that fun shopping I had to do.  Pfft, my tootsies are killing.  It's a tough job, but someones got to do it.  I got lots of new pretty things for me to play with, so I'm a very happy girl indeed.  I'm planning on a few posts next week, already started writing them out and I just gotta load up the pictures so everything will be ready for your pretty eyes to gaze upon.

Anyway, after a hard day shopping, I'm planning on getting an awesome cold shower to take the edge of these boiling hot day, then sitting on top of my bed in front of the fan and watching some Franklin and Bash.  I tried the show out the other day and was pleasantly surprised.  I actually laughed quite a bit, but then as the show went on more and more I got the nagging sensation that I knew one of the main guys, but couldn't put my finger on it.  Then that wonderful little light bulb I have hidden in my head, turned itself on.  He's Zack.  Zack from Saved By The Bell.  Holy crap, I watched him on a daily basis when I was younger.  I had such a crush on him too.  I couldn't believe it he's all grown up...and I got to see his bottom ~girly giggles~.

It's funny when you spot someone who you know from years ago and seeing them all grown up.  It's another thing when you see their bum, haha ;).

Has anyone else spotted people from their childhood all grown up?

Hope you have an awesome day!

Is still alive!

Sorry I haven't posted anything for quite a while, but fear not people of the blogosphere I'm still here, and I promise that after this weekend I will be returning to my usual updating ways.  One more hectic weekend to deal with and then once again my words are yours to read and my photo's are yours to see.

Hope you've all had a great summer so far, and I can't wait to hear about what you've all been doing.

Missing you loads like strawberry toads,
